The Head of Office proceeded to Silchar, Assam for delivering a memorial lecture on 11th January 2012, in memory of founder and doyen of the subject Anthropology Late Dr.A.Das Gupta, in Gurucharan College, Silchar, Assam.

The Head of Office (Current Duties) attended the meeting of review of the proposed 12th Five Year Plan and a realistic work plan of this Survey from 19th to 24th January 2012, at the Head Office, Kolkata.

An official is on tour to Head Office Kolkata, w.e.f 11.12.2011, for a period of 45 days for Beta-globin Gene Sequencing at the DNA Lab Kolkata under the project “Community Genetics and Health for Beta-globin Gene Sequencing”.



Fellowship Programme:

All the SRF/JRFs deployed under the project have completed checking the data sheet collected from Garo community of West Khasi Hills District, Meghalaya. And presently they are checking the data sheets of the Angami community of Nagaland. Three villages, namely, Kidima, Khujama and Phesoma have been fully covered. Secondly 2(two) Khels of Kigwema have been covered.
